The database for the project 'Skopje 2014’ contains data for over 130 structures which have been completed or are under construction as a part of the massive building project of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia – called Skopje 2014.

The search can be be done in two ways:

1. Directly Selecting a Structure

One can directly select a structure from the menu Select a Structure or directly click on some of the marked buildings on the map, at the end of the Home Page.

Display of results: Searching in this way directly leads you to the link of the selected structure, where one gets access to the key information about the respective structure, (to the documentation used as a basis to obtain the data); you can also continue to new, advanced search by various categories. This is done by clicking on the links of the separate categories: Type of Structure, Investors or Contractors.

2. Advanced Search

Clicking the Advanced Search button from the central menu leads you to the menu for advanced database search.

This menu allows you to search by the three key criteria which allows cataloguing the data according to:

  1. Type of Structure
  2. Investors
  3. Contractors

The advanced search can be done by combining (selecting) several data from each category; by selecting only one type of data by category, or to select all the data from one/each category.

Category 1: Type of Structure allows database users to search data grouped according to a structure type, such as: building, multi-storey garage, bridge, fence, monument, façade etc.

Category 2: Investors allows users to search data related to any of the listed investors.

Category 3: Contractors consists of 4 sub-categories:

  • A) Authors: One can select all authors, or select specific authors of the design proposals.
  • B) Construction companies: One can select presentation of data for some, or for all of the construction companies participating in the project.
  • C) Foundries: One can select a display of data for one or for several foundries participating in the project.
  • D) Other: Here one can select companies contracted to perform other serviced previously not listed, such as: maintenance, security, provision of office equipment etc.

In the category Investors, you can select only one, several or all the available data in the menu, at a category or a subcategory level.

If you like to choose only one subcategory, then you should click on its name.

Display of results: The results from the advanced search are displayed on a group results page. The group results page offers three types of search results, split in three parts.

In the upper part, there is a visual representation of the results. The selected parameters reveal information about the percentage / fraction of the requested data in the overall project value; make comparison of the most expensive with the cheapest structure; list the biggest investors or contractors.

In the lower part, the data is provided in tables. Here, one can request that the results are displayed in categories: Structure, Type of Structure, Investors or Contractors.

1. If, in the search criteria, you select Buildings only (in Type of Structure), the displayed table results would be as follows:

  • table Structure: displays all the buildings which are in the ‘type of structure’, and shows their value in Euros and in Denars;
  • table Type of Structure: displays all types of structures (in this case buildings only) and their value in Euros and in Denars;
  • table Investors: shows all investors that financed the construction of structures of the type ‘buildings’ and the sum they invested, in Euros and in Denars;
  • table Contractors: shows all contractors taking part in the construction of the ‘building’ type of structure and the sum they received (from the investors) in Euros and in Denars.

2. If, in the search criteria, you select Municipality of Centre only, the table results would be displayed as follows:

  • table Structures: shows all the structures to whose investor was the Municipality of Centre, and the sum the investor paid for each separate structure, in Euros and in Denars;
  • table Type of Structure: shows all types of structures whose investor is the Municipality of Centre and the amount the investor paid for each separate structure, in Euros and in Denars (how much the investor paid for buildings, how much for facades etc.);
  • table Investors: displays all investors (in this case, the Municipality of Centre only) and the invested amount of money, in Euros and Denars;
  • table Contractors: displays all the contractors and the sum received by the investors, in Euros and Denars.

3. If, in the search criteria, the contractor ‘Beton’ Skopje is selected, the displayed table results would be as follows:

  • table Structure: showing all the structures constructed by ‘Beton’ Skopje and the sum the contractor received for each individual structure, displayed in Euros and Denars;
  • table Type of Structure: showing all types of structures constructed by ‘Beton’ Skopje and the sum the contractor received for each individual structure, displayed in Euros and Denars (how much it was paid for buildings, for facades etc.);
  • table Investors: revealing all the investors that paid the contractor ‘Beton’ Skopje for building various structures and the sum it was paid, in Euros and Denars;
  • table Contractors: shows all contractors (in this case ‘Beton’ Skopje only) and the sum they have received, in Euros and Denars.

4. If in the search criteria one selects the Municipality of Centre in Investors and ‘Beton’ Skopje in Contractors, the displayed table results would be as follows:

  • table Structure: revealing all the structures where the Municipality of Centre is an investor, and ‘Beton’ Skopje is a contractor, and the sum the investor paid to the contractor, in Euros and Denars;
  • table Type of Structure: shows all types of structures where Municipality of Centre is an investor, and ‘Beton’ Skopje is a contractor, and the sum the investor paid to the contractor, in Euros and Denars (how much money the contractor received for buildings, facades etc.);
  • table Investors: shows all the investors (in this case, the Municipality of Centre only) that paid the contractor ‘Beton’ Skopje for building the structures, and the sum they paid, in Euros and Denars;
  • table Contractors: showing all the contractors (in this case only ‘Beton’ Skopje) and the sum they received by the investor Municipality of Centre, in Euros and Denars.

The remaining combinations of the criteria have also a similar interpretation as in the four examples provided above.

At the bottom of the page for group results, there is a map which reveals the locations of the structures from the search results.

Downloading Data

The database offers two types of downloading data: Documentation for the Structures and Display of Results in Tables.

The documentation for the structures can be downloaded from the page of any selected structure, and often, it contains contracts or other types of documents related to the building and the preparation stage. The documents are in pdf format.

The results displayed in tables are downloaded in excel format, and the download is available under any displayed table, in the page for group presentation of the results.

Data Accuracy Symbol

Bearing in mind that at times one supply contract refers to several structures, we marked some of the structures with a Data Accuracy Symbol. This indicates that the presented financial value of the structure is approximate to the factual one. The symbol indicates our inability to make an exact estimation on what sum from the contract refers to which specific structure.
