The monument to the medieval Tsar Samoil, depicted sitting on a throne, announced as part of the “Skopje 2014” project, was unveiled in June 2011 on the central square in Skopje.
The five metre tall monument is made of white marble, and is placed on a postament also made of white marble and 3.5 metres high. The postament features bronze decorative reliefs.
