The monument to Kuzman Josifovski - Pitu is located in the “Women Fighter” park, a park dedicated to women who fought in the WW2.
This memorial honouring one of the leading organisers of the anti-fascist movement and National Liberation Fight in Macedonia was not on the initial list of the “Skopje 2014”. However, upon an initiative by the Ministry of Culture, the councillors of Central Municipality, gave the green light for this and ten other memorials to Macedonian historical figures.
The monument was erected in April 2013, along with some 40 others from the “Skopje 2014” project, immediately after the local elections, when the ruling party, VMRO-DPMNE, lost after several repeated elections in the Centar Municipality to opposition candidate Andrej Zernovski.
