The surface jumping jet fountain in the space between the Stone Bridge and the “Equestrian Warrior” monument on “Macedonia” square was built in June 2015.
Although under the jurisdiction of the City of Skopje, the government allocated two-thirds of the funds needed to finalize the project. According to the documents, the endeavour to reorganize and rennovate Macedonia Square once again has cost more than 2.4 million euros, which drew public criticism of the decision to spend budget funds on fountains that are not a priority for most of the population.
